A young baby who is premature and low birth weight developed ROP(Retinopathy of prematurity) was identified on regular screening and treated with lasers to save from possible complete blindness. Bull gore Eye injury Treated @Bangalore Nethralaya.
A 65 year farmer, Jayrama Gowda had an Bull gore injury to his right eye with total rupture of his eye ball with expulsion of lens and some of internal eye structures was referred to us for expert management, He was operated by our expert team with complete repair of eye ball and surgery for retinal detachment. Currently his condition is extremely good with reasonably good vision.
7 year young boy with giant retinal tear Treated @Bangalore Nethralaya.
A7 year boy lost his left eye about 2 years back, though he underwent surgery elsewhere without success. He came with sudden loss of vision in right eye since 1 week. He was diagnosed to have total retinal detachment with giant retinal tare. Parents were poor and clueless what to do as other eye surgery was a failure though it was done in one of the renowned eye hospital. Then child was operated by Dr.Veerabhadra Rao at Bangalore Nethralaya and child regained his own completely.
New Born Baby, Diagnosed Retinopathy of Prematurity(ROP)

New-born premature twins(7 months gestation) baby was screened and diagnosed on regular screening at NICU as aggressive posterior ROP which is a rare vision threatening condition and the babies were treated with Lasers and Intravitreal Injections. These new born babies had low birth weight of about 900gms each. These babies could have been permanently blind if the condition was not attended immediately as a screening which is most important in all premature, low birth weight babies.
What is ROP?
ROP is a condition where abnormal new blood vessels start growing on the still developing ischemic retina in approximately 5% of premature low birth weight babies. Once the Laser treatment done, these immature retina develops normal vascular growth with regression of abnormal new blood vessels. Once ROP is treated appropriately in right time, these children will have normal vision in the later part of life
